Business Analysis and Project Recommendations

Our business analysis services focus on identifying and prioritizing requirements, understanding your business processes, mapping issues to solutions, estimating new system complexity and defining implementation cost and timeframe.

Investigation and Diagnostic - Our diagnostic approach was originally developed to improve small business performance in aerospace manufacturing.  It is unique, simple, and it works.

Interviews and facility tours are used to gather information and provide an in-depth understanding of the organization, issues, constraints, and the manufacturing processes. This forms the basis for identifying the areas where improvements in people, process, or technology will have a significant impact. 

 

Once a list of improvements is identified, a standardized set of logical “trees” is used to categorize the issues, identify the cause of the condition, and point to a solution.  Multiple causes may result in a particular condition – therefore multiple solutions may be possible. These analysis trees are represented below: 


Prioritizing Recommedations - Prioritization includes ranking projects based on maximizing business benefit and minimizing implementation complexity.

We consider four main factors during the prioritization stage:

-       Your business priorities (objectives and scope, opportunities, and internal and external influences)

-       Timeframe (windows of opportunity, seasonality of your business, current projects underway)

-       Project and program cost (budget constraints, resource usage, project cost, expected return)

-       Technology issues (technology fit, risks associated with new or complex technology, personnel)

Our prioritization process ensures functionality is provided in phases where the highest priority functions are implemented first, and the remaining functions are moved to the future.
